How the FedEx Freight separation benefits your business

FedEx Team

What you trust isn't going anywhere

You can count on the same speed, safety, and reliability you've come to expect.

  • We're still the largest LTL (less-than-truckload) network in the U.S.
  • FedEx Freight® Priority has the fastest published transit times of any nationwide LTL service.
  • You'll keep your current Earned Discounts.
  • FedEx Custom Critical is now part of FedEx Freight—and the premium-expedited service you get isn't changing.

The road ahead is smoother and smarter

We've invested heavily in your LTL freight shipping experience. That means improved automation, faster billing, and top-notch customer support. It's everything you have now, powered by what's next.

  • You can seamlessly create and manage shipments with fully integrated booking, billing, and tracking.
  • You'll be backed by a newly expanded sales team of knowledgeable and dedicated industry experts.
  • A new LTL dedicated pricing system.
  • With enhanced service capabilities, FedEx Freight moves more shipments, faster.

FAQs

Are there any changes to my FedEx Freight agreements and earned discounts post-separation?

In November, all FedEx Freight customers received an email indicating that their agreement(s) is being assigned to FedEx Freight, Inc. as a stand-alone company. In the event you have an active agreement with combined earned discount tiers with FedEx and/or FedEx Freight, you will be notified that your tiers have been separated before June 1, 2026.

No action is needed on your part. Your day-to-day account management and service levels will remain unchanged, and you will continue to work with your existing representatives, systems, and support teams.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the changes further, please don’t hesitate to contact your FedEx and/or FedEx Freight sales representative.

Will my service be disrupted during the transition?

No. Your service will continue uninterrupted—and you'll soon see improvements in booking, billing, and tracking.

What happens to my pricing agreements and discounts?

We'll begin separating parcel and LTL agreements in early spring 2026. If your agreement renews before that, we'll separate it then. Until that happens, your current pricing agreement remains in effect. FedEx will use your historical shipping data to create comparable discounts for each new agreement.

Your Earned Discounts will continue separately for LTL and parcel shipments.

Will FedEx Freight still be a part of the FedEx Rewards program after it's separated from FedEx?

No. FedEx Freight shipments will no longer earn FedEx Rewards points after May 31, 2026.

Will I need a new login for FedEx Freight?

We'll provide clear instructions on updating login paths as we migrate LTL tools to the new FedEx Freight website. Your access to tracking, billing, automation, and historical shipping data will remain available.

Will my FedEx Freight service options change?

No. You can still get commercial and residential delivery with FedEx Freight® Priority, FedEx Freight® Priority Plus, FedEx Freight® Economy, and FedEx Freight Direct. FedEx Custom Critical® and other specialized LTL freight shipping services will also remain available.

Why is FedEx Freight separating from FedEx?

The separation will allow FedEx and FedEx Freight to have greater flexibility to pursue innovation, capture profitable growth opportunities, and adapt to changing customer needs.

As an independent company, FedEx Freight is investing in our LTL sales organization and technology solutions—and scaling fast. The result? An outstanding delivery experience with data-driven, personalized service.

Do I need a new FedEx account for FedEx Freight?

No. You can continue to use your FedEx Freight-enabled account number. If you don't have freight enabled on your account, reach out to your sales rep.

Can I ship air freight with FedEx Freight?

No. FedEx air freight customers can continue to access this service through fedex.com.
